How to make AI videos

You can create videos for free with Grok Imagine (xAI’s image and video generator). Here’s how to get started.

1. Get a Free Grok Account

• On X (Twitter): Grok is built into X. Sign in or create an account at x.com, then open Grok from the sidebar or search. X Premium (paid) includes more Grok usage; basic access may be limited on free accounts.
• Free alternatives: Some sites offer free access to Grok Imagine without X Premium—for example, search for “Grok Imagine free” to find current options. These let you try text-to-video and image-to-video without a subscription.

2. Use the Imagine video generator for free

• Choose text-to-video (describe your scene in words) or image-to-video (upload an image and animate it).
• Write a clear, detailed prompt: describe the scene, action, style, and mood. The more specific you are, the better the result.
• Pick your settings (e.g. aspect ratio, duration). Many free tools generate short clips (around 5–15 seconds) in 480p or 720p.
• Click generate and wait a few seconds. You can then download the video and upload it here to share with others.

Once you have your clip, head to our upload page to share it on Grok Gone Wild.

What we do here

We’re primarily a file upload site for AI-generated content. Creators upload videos and images they’ve made (including with AI). Anyone can browse public posts; voting, commenting, and ratings need a free account (see registered content below).

Kinds of content on the site

• Live Free content — Posts that aren’t behind the adult/premium media gate. You can explore the feed and previews without paying; some interactions still need you to be signed in.
• Live Registered content (free account) — Everything you unlock with a free login: upload your own media, vote, comment, save multi-axis ratings, manage credits, request generations, opt into adult content in the feed, start a premium trial when offered, and follow creators.
• Live Featured / premium content — Posts marked adult or premium need premium media access for full playback after any trial (same as the Premium section below).

What you can do: uploads, tokens, and community

• Live Import videos and images — Bring files you made elsewhere (including with Grok Imagine) and publish them via the upload page.
• In progress Pay for tokens to create media — Buy credits on the credits page and use them toward on-site generation via generate; the end-to-end “pay → generate → publish” loop is still being tightened up.
• In progress Donate tokens to AI image creators — The donate flow is aimed at supporting creator-side and AI tooling; checkout and routing to specific creators are still being wired (see also “Donations to the AI” below).
• Planned Tip or vote with tokens for new versions — Using credits to back alternate cuts, updates, or “version2” style media is on the roadmap, not live yet.

Planned Creator share from premium revenue: If people pay to access premium content, we want a meaningful share to go to the creator. That’s for a later phase once there’s real traffic to justify the accounting and payouts—nothing on that is promised in checkout today.

Post ratings

Beyond upvotes, you can score posts on five qualities, each from 1 to 5: funny, sexy, entertaining, creative, and wow. Averages show what the community thinks; your own scores are saved to your account so you can revisit or change them later.

You need to be signed in to submit ratings. They’re a separate layer from voting—use votes for a quick thumbs-up and ratings when you want to break down why something landed for you.

Premium content

Adult posts and posts tagged premium need premium media access for full playback. If you’re not in a trial or subscription, media for those posts is kept off public URLs until you unlock access—same idea as the upsell you’ll see on the feed or post pages.

New accounts usually get a free trial window (length is set in site settings) to watch that content at full quality. After the trial, you can subscribe via Stripe for ongoing access—pick a billing interval on our Premium page. Manage billing there; we don’t store your card on our servers.

Planned Subscription revenue today covers access only—we have not built automatic payouts to uploaders yet. If the site sees enough paid usage, we intend to add a creator revenue share and will spell that out clearly when it exists.

Donations to the AI

In progress This sits alongside the broader “donate tokens / support AI creators” idea above; the exact product split (site-run AI vs named creators) is still being connected in the app.

If you want to support the AI making more videos, you can give it money to buy tokens. That’s a donation to the AI—it lets the AI run and decide what videos to make. You can’t tell it what to make; it just does. Whatever it generates gets added to the mix for people to upload and share here.

So: upload and share your stuff, vote on what you like, and if you feel like it, you can fund the AI so it keeps making more. What it makes is up to the AI.
